Good Bets vs Bad Bets in Craps

Good vs bad bet in crapsYou should always play smart and be smart. Also, learn the basics of craps to play in the right way.

Skills craps players are non-existing. At the same time, ignorant and knowledgeable players do exist. Although, no player has master's done in “dice setting” or “dice control”. Being knowledgeable is the key factor based on which craps decision can be affected.

The amount of basic knowledge drives the number of times you quickly win or may be little slowly lose or occasionally win. This is fact; casinos are here to make business and good money rather than gambling. The player is known to be gambler and not the casino. Casinos have built in house advantage and over the times the make in more money.

The fact is due to built-in advantage for house, craps play a negative expectation on the game. Negative expectation holds the fact that game will conclude in player losing the game eventually. Player might experience some short breaks of winning but towards the end the player is guaranteed to loose the game. Here is an example:

If you flip a coin, then you would have a 50 over 50 chance of coin showing tails and 50 over 50 chance for the coin to show heads. In this case if you bet true odd of bet dollar one, then you win dollar one.

Craps at the casino

However most of the casinos do not accept these odd true bets. If you flip these coins with your friends for each dollar one your friend loses, then he would pay you dollar one. But for a casino scenario, for each dollar one you lose, casino would pay you dollar 0.96.

If you are playing with negative expectation and if this goes on for time, you would easily break down. Most of the casinos have built in bets “casino odds” and these bets allow the casino’s to pay less in cases where player wins. Hence, as the casino pays less the casino would eventually take over all the profits in the long terms and towards the end of the game. Player in this way is the looser and does not gain anything.

The next question which comes to mind is how much time would it take for you to break down playing craps? This actually depends on the number of bets you place with low or high advantages of house. Off course at the same time, bet amount plays a key factor as it directly applies to the bank roll. With this we should focus on bad bets versus good bets.

Craps special effects pictureFor example, incase you plan to bet Big 6, and then this would have 9% advantage for the house. In this case, you would lose about dollar 0.90 on averages.

Incase you make only bets which are pass line and have 1.4% advantage of hour, you can then expect to lose around 0.14 dollars. Out of these two, 1.4% advantage being higher if lost is a good bet.

In this way, it’s important you know how to play a good bet versus bad bet. You will break down faster if you play good bets in favor of house advantage as this will lead to your failure.
